Starting 1st Grade at 17 years old

Dear Family and friends,

I am passing along a prayer request from our ministry partners at the Restoration House in Belo Horizonte. As I read about this need, the thought came to mind, “How much more difficult is my life in comparison to Davidson’s?” – There are no easy answers, but I am definitely grateful for the staff and ministry of the Restoration House.

Update & Prayer Request for September 16, 2008
Davidson is doing well, but sometimes he gets depressed because of his family. Last night, he had a deep conversation with Edivando (staff member) and said that he is still struggling about his stepfather who killed his mom a few months ago. He said that it is so hard to forgive him and wants to take revenge for his mother's death. He also feels very burdened for his brothers and sisters who are living in the slum. He thinks at 17 that it is responsibility to take care of them.

Davidson at 17 years old just started school last year. So literally he is in the first grade. Obviously he feels it's way too late for him to start. Please pray that God touches his heart so that he can have forgiveness for his stepfather and remove all the burdens that he doesn't need to carry.
