Feliz Aniversário

Happy Birthday, Dad!

I wish I could be there in Brazil for the wild party I know you're going to have.

I hope you know that, while some may call you and Mom's decision to move bad timing (with two daughters in college and two in high school), I think it's the best timing anyone could have hoped for. What better time to demonstrate a willingness to embark on a no-holds-barred, people-think-we're-crazy, this-is-absolutely-the-right-thing-to-do adventure than when your children are on the brink of choosing their own adventure?

So, thank you for not using us as an excuse not to do what God was calling you to do. It might have been convenient, but what you've done is so much more valuable to all of us. It's valuable now, when we are still struggling through it, and it will be even more valuable later, when we can say that great things were accomplished because we were willing to let them happen. (Even at the expense of convenience.)

I love you! I pray that this year is as full of surprises and leaps of faith as the previous 52 have been.

Love, Aravis (the favorite second daughter)

You know PR, Aravis said it right! Your are truely amazing person and man of God. I am so glad that you didnt use your children as excuses to not do Gods will. In this process you are not only leasing them, but you are leading up many young men and woman. Americans and Brasilians and I'm sure to many you are a spiritual father! I wish I were there to give you a hug for your bday! You will get one when I get to Brasil! =]]

Dad, I`m bad...sorry I didn`t read this earlier...BUT what really matters is that Ari said it all just right! I admire your boldness and courage, and your faith and obedience and I respect how much you care about God`s opinion and not men`s opinions about your life. You have made and are making a difference in my life in a lot of different ways...you know, not everyone would take a 22 year old to live with them even if just for a season just because you cared enough...not everyone would let some random 23 year old call them dad every three minutes (even her real dad, supposely, haha)..yeah, I have not enough words to thank you and to show you my appreciation..I love you and again, Ari just hit the spot!

What an amazing legacy you are leaving in your children! Being the father of 4 daughters, I can only hope that my wife and I leave such a legacy for our children and serve God in such a way that our children do not resent the ministry. Way to go, my friend! Way to go.
