We are going to do our best to fake a Thanksgiving dinner, but it's really hard when Jocelyn can't find most of what we need to create the feast, which includes finding a turkey that's bigger than a chicken. No kiddin, every turkey we've seen my six-year old granddaughter, Sadye, can tuck in the fold of her arm like a football and sprint like an NFL running back. Speaking of NFL and footballs, there won't be any Thanksgiving Day football games either. – (They didn't even broadcast the Super Bowl down here, good luck with tomorrow.)
But please don't be dismayed as you gnaw on all of that scrumptious food tomorrow; we're going to be ok. Even if it is our second Thanksgiving Dinner we'll taste from afar, we really are thankful. We're thankful because still in the face of tremendous economic challenges, we know God's faithfulness and His promise to provide. We don't know how, but we know that He will. We're thankful because He continues to reassure us that even if we have to miss tomorrow's great feast, we're still exactly where He has told us to be…. and that feels great. (Hungry… but great.)
So please don't feel sorry for us, we are tremendously grateful to God and for our precious family and friends like you. – But just in case you're wondering, "Yes, you can Fed Ex us a sweet potato pie. Send me an email if you need to call my momma."

I'm trying to re-create it myself. We should webcam tomorrow at the dinner table!
I love how you illustrate the cultural difference, in a season where America is the most cultured. Yes, I have felt your pain. May the Lord be with you and your family during the holidays. I just wish i could have been there to play a game of football with the Brasileiros, Sean and Chris, and ofcourse you P.R at quarterback. What an awesome day that would be, or rather will be.
Blessings and love, See you soon!
